LeBron Sweepstakes Ends Tonight
The most celebrated NBA baller since Michael Jordan and most hyped free agent, probably in league history, will have us glued to television sets tonight. He will cease all the suspense and tell us where he plans to play starting next season.
The most nervous of all? Cleveland.
ESPN will air James’ special announcement starting at 9pm Eastern/8pm Central), and the network says that within the first 10 minutes of the telecast James will put all this media hype to bed, on whether he stays put in his back yard with the Cavaliers, or the other teams who entered the sweepstakes for his talents.
Speculation is closing in on a winner as we draw closer to ‘The Decision’. Will LeBron play for New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls or…
will he complete the third piece of the puzzle and rule the courts with Dywane Wade and Chris Bosh??
As the time to decide draws nearer, reports are that he will be signing with Miami. But his camp has been fab at keeping their mouths closed about everything.
Out of the 4 teams, you’d think he’d lean more towards remaining a Cav. Home should be where the heart is, especially since the fans think the world of him anyway, and he can get the players around him needed to bring a title to Cleveland.
But it’s no secret he’s chasing a title. I think Cleveland’s best chance to win it all was in 2009, but team Orlando made ‘Magic’ happen and knocked King James off the throne in the Eastern Conference Finals. So, if the Cavs cannot put all the necessary pieces in place to win it all it’s quite likely he could swing in another direction. East.
Although I think this is far beyond a media circus, hopefully LeBron put as much thought into this whole franchise altering decision as advertising will be pumped into ESPN during this hour.
