Erick Dampier will not be finishing his career with the Dallas Mavericks.
The team announced on this afternoon that they have traded the the 14 year veteran center, along with Eduardo Najera and Matt Carroll to the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for Centers Tyson Chandler and Alexis Ajinca. Read more…

It was less than 24 hours ago when the Dallas Mavericks had to gut it out to get the thrilling 106-102 overtime win against the Memphis Grizzlies, their first win at FedEx Forum in the last four tries. Tonight, they’ll need to show some true grit. The Mavs won’t be back home in bed, but at the American Airlines Center on the second night of a back to back to host the Orlando Magic. Dallas Mavericks are back home tonight aiming for their 13th consecutive win of the season when they go up against Devin Harris and the New Jersey Nets, a team standing at a league worst 7-56 record. But forget what the record speaks about them and their season. I don’t think it truly reflects the individual talent on that Nets team. Granted, seven wins means they’re way too bad to be fit for TV, but I’ve seen some highlights. The Nets are playing a little harder—just ask Boston, who actually blew it at home to the Nets! So this very young Nets team seems to be gelling along lately as a total unit which sparks the conclusion that the 44-21 Mavs-and the newly crowned oldest team in the NBA-shouldn’t get it twisted… Read more…
